When you connect a domain name to your portfolio website, its DNS (Domain Name System) settings are updated. These changes don’t take effect instantly; they usually take between 24 and 48 hours to fully process. This waiting period is known as propagation time, which refers to how long it takes for the updated DNS information to spread across the internet.
The exact timing depends on several factors, such as your domain provider, internet service provider, and geographic location, and it’s something that falls outside of Portfoliobox’s control.
Check your progress
If you've configured your domain correctly but your website isn’t live yet, don’t worry; this delay is completely normal. The best thing to do is simply wait for the propagation to complete.
While you wait, you can track your domain’s progress using whatsmydns.net. This tool shows you how your DNS changes are spreading across servers around the world.
If your artist portfolio or photographer website is still not working after 48 hours, please contact our support team. We’ll be happy to assist you and make sure your domain connects smoothly.
