A domain helps your portfolio website look professional and easy to find. You can choose from many TLD options, and your plan determines what is included.
Understanding top-level domains (TLDs)
A top-level domain (TLD) is the last part of a website address, for example, .com, .org, or .net. It’s also known as a domain extension and helps define the identity and purpose of your portfolio website.
Included domains
If you use a yearly Personal or Professional plan, you can register a basic TLD for free for the first year. Basic TLDs include common options like .com, .net, and .org, and more. Unusual or premium TLDs cost extra. You can choose one if you want something specific for your portfolio.
Monthly plans
If you use a monthly Personal or Professional plan, the domain is a paid service. You can choose a basic TLD or a premium TLD and pay the fee during registration.
Many TLD choices
You have access to many TLDs. If you want a unique extension, you can add it for an extra cost.
Country domains
Country-specific domains, like .fr, .co.uk, or .se, are not included. You can register them with a third-party provider and connect them to your Portfoliobox website.
Domain naming rules
All domains follow the same character rules.
- You can use letters a to z, numbers zero to nine, and hyphens.
- You cannot use spaces.
- You cannot start or end your domain with a hyphen.
