Unpublish your website

There may be times when you need to temporarily take your portfolio website, for example, while making major updates, redesigning your layout, or preparing a new collection. With Portfoliobox, you can easily unpublish your portfolio and continue editing it privately until it’s ready to go live again.

  1. Log in to your Portfoliobox account and navigate to your admin panel.
  2. On the left-hand side, click on Settings to open the general settings menu.
  3. Scroll down to find the Website Status section.
  4. In this section, you will see an option to Unpublish Website. Click the toggle switch or button to unpublish your portfolio.
  5. Confirm your decision to unpublish the website if prompted.

Once unpublished, your portfolio will no longer be visible to the public, but you can still make updates, add new work, or adjust your design from within your admin panel.

When you’re ready to share your work again, simply repeat these steps and select Publish to make your portfolio visible online.

Why unpublish your portfolio?

Unpublishing your artist portfolio, photographer website, or designer portfolio is helpful when:
 • You’re making major design or content updates.
 • You want to relaunch your portfolio website with new branding.
 • You prefer to keep your work private while you prepare for an exhibition or client review.

Keep in mind that while unpublished, visitors won’t be able to access your pages, so it’s best used temporarily during edits or redesigns.
