Add policies and terms to your website

A privacy policy explains how your portfolio website collects, uses, and protects personal data. It’s a key part of GDPR compliance and helps build trust with your visitors and clients. If you’re unsure where to start, you can find many free templates online to adapt to your needs.

Here’s how to easily add a privacy policy to your Portfoliobox portfolio.

Create a text page

Start by adding your Privacy Policy to a text page on your portfolio.

2. Write your Privacy Policy or General Terms

Add the link to your cookie message

You can add your privacy policy to your cookie message so that visitors will be informed when they visit your portfolio for the first time. You can add a cookie message to your portfolio and customise the text inside the message. The message will look like a banner at the bottom of the page.

1. Click on Settings
2. Choose General Settings
3. Scroll down and toggle Enable Cookie Message
4. Replace the text inside the text field with the text to encourage visitors to check your privacy policy. You can make a text hyperlink that will lead the visitors to your privacy policy page.

Add the link to your footer

1. Scroll down to the bottom of a page
2. Click Add a Footer
3. Choose the content you want to add to your footer
4. Add the link to your Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions into your footer
